The Toura Golf Blank K-Cut MB (Pro) Irons are forged and hand finished, one by one, in Ichikawa Japan - the birthplace of Japanese golf club production. Forged for Toura Golf at one of Japan's top foundries - Fujimoto Golf - these are some of the best feeling MBs money can buy. On this point, it is worth noting that these irons direct from Toura Golf come in at an mazing deal. At just $850 for club heads and less than $1000 for a fully built set, these irons cost less than half of the Miura's that are made from the same steel just down the street.
On this note, it is important to highlight that the Toura Golf K-Cut irons are both forged and finished (ground in Japan). While you may see other japan blanks out there on various sites or from various 'custom artisans', it's very important to remember that they are just that. These are often clubs that are being ground by amateurs/ enthusiasts at home, and not by master craftsman in Japan. This can produce big questions when it comes to the final result, including the quality of the grinding work and the overall balance of head. With the Toura Golf heads, they are both forged and finished by master craftsman in Ickakawa, which means quality is guarenteed.
As one would expect from a true Japanese MB, these irons do look and feel like they should. The top-line is thin and there is a relatively high face progression (think lower off-set). The K-Cut MBs are forged from the highest quality, Japanese grade S20C (soft carbon steel) and come in a polished raw finish. Together, the soft S20C and the raw finish means these are some of the softest feeling irons money can buy. There is simply no other way to put it.
These heads are completely blank and only have the club number on the sole and “Made in Japan” on the hosel. While I know many would be tempted to customize or stamp them, we personally think the best look for these irons is to keep the blank and to lean hard into that true "Proto Style" that is so mysterious.
Long story short, we agree with Toura Golf when they say there is an argument to be made that these are some of the finest clubs available on the market, especially at this price point. It seems hard to imagine getting an iron with this kind of pedigree anywhere else for this price.
